DUAN INK STONE
18TH-EARLY 19TH CENTURY
16.5 cm long, 3.8 cm high
The ink stone is of rectangular section, the top of the main surface carved with a swirling cloud motif revealing the semi circular cavity, resembling the sun appearing from under the clouds. The ink grinding surface is slightly concave and framed by a raised rim. The base and sides are left undecorated. The stone has acquired a smooth surface.
