LONGQUAN CELADON BOWL
YUAN DYNASTY (1279-1368)
14.3 cm diameter, 7 cm high
The deep bowl with rounded sides rises from a straight foot. The interior is freely carved under the glaze with two lotus blooms. The exterior is incised with a decorative borders around the rim and the foot. The inside and outside are covered with a transparent celadon glaze, pooling in the recessed areas of the carving. The base is glazed except for the underside of the foot rim, showing the orange-burned body.
